Did you start in 1962 and take O-levels in
1966?
Did you join 6th form in 1966?
If so, this also applies to YOU!
1976 : The class of ''76 is organising
another of its popular reunions.
Proposed date - sometime early October 2006.
Did you do your O levels in 1976? Come
and join the '45+ Club'!
We may also be able to accommodate some from
the class of 75 and 77.

Past Reunions
70th
Anniversary
The original school was opened in
September 1931 as Ecclesfield
Grammar School, becoming
Ecclesfield Comprehensive School
in 1967, and later still simply
Ecclesfield School. It has become
customary to hold a Reunion every
10th anniversary in celebration
of the opening.
The 70th anniversary in 2001 was
made special by the conclusion of
a major construction (and
demolition!) programme. The new
building (built on the cricket
square!) was officially opened by
the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, on
Friday October 12th 2001. The
building was open for public
scrutiny during the previous
week, and on the Open Day which
was held on Sunday October 14th.
The social event was held on the
evening of Saturday October 13th,
with a live band playing in Lady
Mabel Hall, and adjacent bar. A
buffet was served in the dining
room in the new building, and a
display of old photographs was
staged in the library. We do not
as yet have any photographs of
the event, but will publish any
that anyone sends to mail@esvc.freeserve.co.uk
1986 Reunion: was held on
Friday 30th January 2004
Newton Hall Chapeltown
1987 Reunion:
On
Saturday 1st March 2003, over 90 people from
the 1987 O level year group congregated at
SWFC for a fantastic reunion.
Lots of friends were reunited for the first
time in 15 years, various people were
confessing crushes on others and some old
flames were brought back together, but these
shall remain nameless to protect the
individuals concerned! All in all, a top night
with lots of laughing and dubious dancing to
cheesy eighties music – if you missed it,
you’llhave to wait for another fifteen years!

Lilley for all their efforts in organising
this event, and to everyone else who helped by
passing the word around.
1969 Reunion :
A Reunion and
Communal Fiftieth (50) birthday
celebration was held on 12th October 2002 at the Niagara
(Police Social Club) Wadsley
Bridge. The event, organised by Linda Adams and
Dave Ardron, was attended by 40+ ex-pupils,
with John Shaddock and Geoff (Oggy) Jennett
representing the staff.
